| The main characteristics of the Federal style are:
1. An internal structural frame which is made of hand hewn beams.
2. Lumber siding which was made at a small local lumber mill.
3. Window sashes, glass and hardware purchased at the Hudson's Bay Company Store at Fort Vancouver.
4. Six over six light (or more) double hung windows.
5. Rectangular or box-like shape with low pitched roof.
6. Symmetrical placement of windows and doors.
7. Interior chimneys. |
